1. LAW ENFORCEMENT: Weed & Seed Hawaiʻi works with law enforcement officers to target, apprehend and incapacitate violent street criminals in their designated areas.

2. COMMUNITY POLICING: Community residents work with law enforcement officers to develop solutions for crimes in their neighborhoods.

3. PREVENTION, INTERVENTION AND TREATMENT: Crime and violence can be prevented by involving resident and human service organizations, such as the YMCA of Honolulu, to create a positive community environment.

4. NEIGHBORHOOD RESTORATION: Weed & Seed Hawaiʻi is designed to revitalize and improve the quality of life by assisting to address community blight and support education and economic development.

Mission

Bringing people and resources together to reduce crime in our communities through law enforcement, community engagement, social and economic revitalization, neighborhood beautification, and an investment in the future of our youth.

Goals

Mobilize community residents to assist law enforcement in identifying and removing violent offenders and drug traffickers from their neighborhoods, assist human service agencies in identifying and responding to social service needs and fully participate in community planning and decision-making processes.

Objectives

Develop a comprehensive community-based strategy to control and prevent violent crime, gang activity, drug trafficking and drug-related crime. Coordinate existing and new government and private-sector initiatives, criminal justice efforts and human services.
